I've lost my "Lucy"!

Ya know how some days you're a Lucy and some days you're an Ethel? What I mean by that is that some days I'm full of ideas, good or bad, which usually leads to mischief, and other days I'm content to be the loyal sidekick. Lately I have realized that I have "lost my Lucy". I've gotten lazy by not participating in swaps, not finishing my projects or my rooms!
Now maybe it's because I've been so concerned with cleaning up my room, maybe it's because I've had the flu. Nah, I think I've just lost my "Lucy" for awhile. I'm hoping when I finish organizing my rooms I'll have that surge of creativity working with a clean slate. Maybe I should start a list of things I want to do to to get motivated. Any suggestions??
Has this happened to you? Have you ever lost your "Lucy"?? What did you do?
Well, for now I'm content to be the Ethel for awhile, a trusty sidekick who will find mischief and mayhem with my other friends. Lord only knows I have enough creative "Lucy" friends to follow! So beware fellow blog friends, I'll be stalking you all for awhile to get my creative "Lucy" going again!

I have had this happen! I stay quiet for a while, and then I do a little something, which usually leads to a little more and a little more...

This is an interesting analogy. I did not grow up with TV so only slightly familiar with the names My art partner Mary Rose always encourages when I am "at sixes an sevens" by saying: if you start the painting it will get finishes. She is so right

Why is that sometimes there are so many ideas that you don't know where to begin and other times you've got cobwebs in the brain?? Don't have an answer but I think I'm going to tick the box "been sick" for the correct answer. I just now (maybe????) got to the tail end of this flu or whatever. Left me completely drained. So just take a few steps at a time and you'll get yourself in gear!! xoxo

Yes dear
I know what your talking about
I did a post about I've lost my groove , same thing as loosing your Lucy.
I just let everything go, blog, house, laundry, etc and did what I wanted for a few days then I felt refreshed and got my groove back LOL

You'll be fine in a few days

That is just what I do, visit other blogs until I find some inspiration, but then again it is ok to take a break away from Lucy....

Lucy/Ethel,
Oooooooh noooooooo, you didn't lose your Lucy????!!!!! Well, I do know what you mean. When that happens to me I am also not feeling well, like you, or have a lot of stressful things happening. Mostly, the main reason I lose touch with my creative crazy impulsive obsessive crafting side is when my home or sewing area are all messy and disorganized. The messier the less likely I am to do anything. I find that when I have an area cleaned up and sparkling I feel like a million bucks and am all ready to jump into the next project. Something about empty counter space and no clutter make the wheels start spinning. I just get very overwhelmed with a lot of stuff around me, distracting me and making me feel like I have too much going on. I just can't function that way. I hope this was even a little helpful! Being Ethel sometimes is not so bad, she balances the Lucy in us! Love the post by the way! You crazy girl!!!
Hugs,
Julie (aka Lucy)
