Vintage Kitty Designs

Tracey Coyle of Vintage Kitty Designs is a friend of mine that makes wonderful clothes that I wanted to share with you! Her look is creative, fun and comfortable. This link will take you to her Etsy Shop.
She makes everything from coats, skirts, tunics, and dresses. As soon as she puts anything in her online store it's gone! Tracey is from New Zealand and lives with her sweet hubby and two adorable hounds. She has a studio stocked to the ceiling with fabric, doilies and such.
I've bought several things from Tracey over the years and have worn them until they have holes in them!
It's always so hard to decide when you go to her page! She also does custom work. She has made wedding dresses, wedding coats and bridesmaids dresses. She's up to just about anything!
I bought the top right hand dress a couple of years ago and love it! Even as hot as it gets in Texas, her clothes breathe and are so comfortable to wear.
OK I bought the one on the left too, I wore it to a wedding and I swear I got more compliments on my dress than the bride did!
These are some of her newer pieces she has made and I think the muti-colored one is my favorite....or maybe the pink...
Her tops can be as fitted or as loose as you want. I have narrow shoulders so she has to make mine more fitted. It's a look that I love and I've decided that at this point in my life I want comfortable clothes but with a flair.
Another shot of her new pieces!
What's not to love! If you're interested in buying anything or just want inspiration just click on the link above or go to her Vintage Kitty facebook page Thanks for coming by!

Poor Santa

I'm told this was me as I sat on Santa's knee,
I screamed and kicked, just wanting get free.
But then I asked him for monkeys,
just in case I had kids,
I think that was a sign, and why I never did!
I really didn't bring Santa to tears
I just don't think that's what he wanted to hear!
He said he had reindeer and elves but no monkey scouts,
I got so mad I just sat there with only a pout!
I don't think the kids after me were much better,
one was screaming and one just got wetter!
Poor Santa, he works so hard but gets no props,
kids ask for everything from Barbies to riding crops.
So on a whim he thought what about those with fur,
maybe they'd like him more and not cause such a stir.
But after getting scratched,
bitten, and even peed on,
Santa decided this was not what he agreed upon!!
So when you see a Santa in the Mall or
ringing a bell,
Just remember all the screaming kids
who put poor Santa through hell!!!

So, give him a smile and maybe a gift,
you never know how long Santa keeps his list!
Merry Christmas!

A Beautiful Winter Wonderland !!

Oh the weather outside was frightful, but inside it was delightful, at Kim Caldwell's Winter Wonderland Event!! She planned the event at the Belamar Hotel in Manhatton Beach. The ballroom was filled with Winter Wonderland  table decorations including snow globes made by Kim Caldwell and Terry Frias
Kim dressed her Mani which sat at the entrance to the room. The chair covers looked like pillow covers with a little bling added. It gives me ideas for the next party I have!
We even had a Wonderland candy bar, Kim thinks of everything! As you can see close up, the snow globes are adorable. I think she got the jars at Target and she used german glitter to top everything off.
It was so great to spend time with friends that I haven't seen in so long, and fun to spend time with pals from home!
Andrea's stocking swap with Vickie,  Jo Ann with Suzette and the ever so adorable Tara with her sock swap! This was Jo Ann's first event and she had so much fun!!
That Terry Frias knows how to make you smile, she's such a cutie! I got to sit next to Roxie, who is shown here in the middle of Jessi and Cheryl. Roxie went to the Terry school of contagious smiles because she had me laughing the whole time!
This is a Christmas tree where several people made swap ornaments to fill these beautiful little trees. It was amazing to see all the work that went into each ornament. I wish I had made one too!
I took lots of photos of Andrea Villarreal because she was Charlene Gray's Stocking partner. I finally got Charlene in the corner shot! I think Andrea really enjoyed her stocking, it really turned out well and was filled to the brim with goodies inside!
These were from the sock and glove swap. They were all so different and incredibly creative! What's so great about these events is that you leave with so many good ideas!
This was of course the cell phone cover swap! I loved making my cover, it's in the middle. The one I received was from the grand master of ceremonies, Kim Caldwell, it's the one on the right. Isn't it just amazing! Every time I pull it out of my purse everyone just gasps and wants to know where I got it. I have now gotten two offers from people to buy it! I politely said hell no, MINE! Thank you Kim!
I love PJ parties! We had the ornament swap that night and just sat around and gabbed about anything and everything! The volume coming that room made it sound like there were 200  people in there. We were having a large time!!
Kim had warm milk and cookies for dessert. I think she thought it might make us sleepy and quiet.......it didn't work! After caffeine and the candy bar we were all wired like little kids on sugar crack!!
This super fun car was sitting in the entrance of the
Vintage Marketplace. It's an antique fair that was wonderful. It was drizzling all day but the vendors endured, smiled and seemed happy to see a bus load of 33 women all eager to shop!
Vickie and I were bus mates! Kim would get on the bus and always say,"Does everyone have their buddy?" mine was sweet Vickie Orlando! I'm the other photo I'm in Lisa Loria's booth where I found some adorable Christmas bling! I also spent a lot of time in Wings of lace. I would have taken a photo but the booth was so crowded there was no way to get a shot!
These photos are from Mitilda's Mouse. They were so sweet and patient. They waited for us, we were running late because out bus had a flat, so it was almost dark when we got there! We stormed that place like a hive of bees! We were all grabbing and nabbing as fast as we could!! I know when we left they looked at their shop and thought,'we need more stuff! Those women stripped us clean!'
Ahhh, Charlene's mermaid! If it didn't weigh 9000 pounds she might have bought it but I don't think it would fit in the overhead bin! Did I buy the doll? Nope, he didn't wave a whole head! I guess I could have made a chia pet out of him but I thought, nah, too much trouble.
I think this was the American Home and Garden Shop in Ventura. Right next door was the Agoura Antique Mall. Between the 33 of us we were all over that shopping area oohing and aahing over all the Christmas decorations. The front table was exceptionally beautiful with this white Christmas display. The vendors in all of the shops had drinks and snacks for us all. Like we all needed to eat........again!
These were all over the front table and throughout the store. My favorite was the white peacock. I was afraid she would be to fragile to pack so I left without her! Great ideas though!
But, all good things must come to an end.
So we packed it all up and headed over to Vickie's house to spend the night before heading back to Texas. She is THE hostess with the mostess!!! She spoiled us rotten!
And with that I wish you all a wonderful holiday!
Merry Christmas!

Fabulous frame class with Riki Schumacher

My friend Charlene and I went to California to take a class with Riki Schumacher. It was a torch class and we made these cute frames.
I love using a blow torch!
It was such a fun group!
We all had a blast and had a great teacher.
If you ever have a chance to take one of Riki's classes, just do it!
All of our almost finished frames!
Mine, or did you already guess that!!!
I'm not sure what Riki was doing but she was really concentrating!
Jan and Susan
Diana cleaning her frame before the final touches.
After a day of class we hit the Pasadena Flea Market, OMG! If you're ever in the area, you have to go. It was huge and the prices were great! There were two parking lots and three levels of the parking garage!! We saw maybe 20% of it!! And yes........I did find a few dolls, one even looks like Bette Davis in her "Baby Jane" role, kinda creepy even for me!
Then we went to downtown LA too look at everything! Joy was a wonderful guide, she took us everywhere! I bought more bling, and then some trim, and then a little more bling.
No baby doll heads there. Rats!

CHAPTER TWO
So after going and blowing for several days I was pooped! So, when Joy, her husband Dale and Charlene wanted to go to dinner I decided to just have a snack and take a long hot soak in the tub.
I took my dinner of crackers, cheese and grapes upstairs, had my snack and put the rest in the sink, safe from the two dogs.........I thought!
This is Joy's dog Duke, a GINORMOUS black lab. He is the sweetest dog ever.
So I climbed in the tub and began to soak.
Well Duke came up to visit, I left the bathroom door open. He sat and looked at me eye to eye, and them put his head in the bathtub and had a drink with me in it! Then his nose goes up in the air, sniffing, and you know what happened next.....he stood up on those long legs and ate what was left of my snack out of the sink! Well I'm in the bathtub and I didn't even have "Duke! No!", out of my mouth before he ate it all and part of the paper towel. Thank goodness her long haired weinie dog has short legs!
SO, I had a wonderful time in sunny California, staying with my sweet friend Joy and.......
Duke.
I can't wait to go back, thanks for stopping by!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Chester was pissed cause his dinner somewhere was cold,
He'd been waiting so long he was growing mold.
He made all the calls and planned way ahead,
He didn't want to cook, so he called it in instead.

But he should have known when a ferret answered the phone,
They're not known to be trusted when in charge all alone!
So when the time came for his turkey to arrive,
He opened the box and the turkey was alive!

"Well that just does it' he muttered and grumbled
I'll just sit here hungry and watch the Cowboys fumble!
But the turkey was so grateful he wasn't the meal,
He told ol' Chester he'd make him a deal.
"I'll pay for dinner and we can order Chinese",
Chester looked at the turkey and said,"do as you please."

So the moral of this story is that the meal doesn't have to be so planned,
It's the people you're with that makes it so grand.
