Junk Gypsy Prom! Yep, those goofy costumes were my idea!

OK, I have to admit it, it was my idea. We were the Playboy Runaway Brides 2011! I put together the costumes, had the sashes made, made the ears with the veils, yet somehow... I just kept thinking it wouldn't look quite so goofy. HA! As if it were possible to look any more like a dork! So I thought I would give all of you a good laugh and share in my public humiliation!!
Well I did get a good laugh out of Junk Gypsy Amie. I look like Harvey the giant rabbit next to her! She is so tiny!
And Jolie who looked as cute as she could be! She looked at me and said,"What are you drinking?"

Then I saw Robin Gray of Magnolia Pearl. The look on her face was like.."and you like to wear my clothes?" But she was nice and posed anyway while her hubby John just shook his head and laughed!
The prom was perfect! The weather was nice and cool, the crowd was all dressed up for HGTV's filming for their new series on the Junk Gypsies.
The band was fun and we danced under the moonlight. I actually glowed in the dark! I don't know what was more white, my outfit or me! I'm pigment deficient!
I stayed in Deb's booth part of the night just hanging out with other vendors Robilyn, Trisha and of course,Cat-Daddy.
Adorable Robalyn with Red-Neck Chic. She had a good week but was about to die from the heat like the rest of us! She makes the cutest purses and jewelry, check her out!
No autographs of the giant glow-in-the-dark, rabbit!!
Tricia had her booth right next to Red-Neck, she has an adorable pink and white trailer that I am so envious of. It even has a pink stove!!!!
Little did Kristi know she was going to be rabbit-rushed for a photo. Doesn't her face just say, this woman has lost her bunny brain!
And last but not least, there really was a Hugh Hefner there! He kept running after us all night saying,"Bunnies come back, I promise we don't have to sleep together!" Hey, I guess crazy attracts crazy!

A White Bride Poem for White Wednesday

There was a young woman with luck on her side,
she went to the seaside to watch the tide.
Her fortune was made with buttons of pearl,
all dresses had them to please every girl.

She sat on the rocks with the sun sinking down,
and thought to herself, will I ever wear a gown,
with layers of lace and pearl buttons down the back?
Then up walked a man who called himself Jack.

They talked until dawn, till the seagulls began to sing,
she thought to herself, will I ever wear a ring?,
with a diamond or a ruby or maybe an opal,
her heart skipped a beat, she was ever hopeful.

They made a good match, they were never apart,
he'd won her over and touched her heart.
They stayed together after she wore her gown and ring
till they both passed on and the angels did sing .

So,when you see a pearl button, look to the skies,
and think of the young  woman with luck on her side.

Round Top a little spooky, sparkly and full of smiles!

For all you spooky girls out there, LuLu Kellogg, this photo was for you!
OK I like doll heads but these were even a little
too creepy for me!
Now this one is kinda cute, just not quite cute enough to
take her home.
I'm not sure what this is about, I think it was more,
hummm, what do I have left over....
I thought I would go back and get this from Skip to my Lou, then forgot it! Arg, I know it's gone by now. I just love her stuff. It's just not Marburger without her!
I liked this one too but it was pretty big. I was afraid I'd lean over and it would whack me in the face!
Just gorgeous. This photo really doesn't give it justice. If you ever see her booth, please stop by and look at all of her photos and wonderful creations.
I found a bride of course! I think this is a pendant, beautiful!
Then we have the other side of the fence of jewelry, funky and fun.
Paris Montana had a small airstream full of slip dresses and jewelry. She's is Warrengnton, close to the Junk Gypsies. You can't miss her!
Great display.
Le Muse is out of California and had soo much wonderful stuff. These cuffs were great, it was hard to decide!
These are just a few of the many necklaces she had. I just kept turning in circles trying to take it all in!
Wanted one but they were too big, wa.
After all that shopping  I stopped by to see my bud Ricky for a BLT and potato salad at The Back Porch. They have inside bathrooms, BIG plus. Plus Ricky is a sweetie.
Tricia at the bloggers party, she looked so cute even after working in the heat all day and she was "workin" that slip dress!
The sweetest, most wonderful person you'll ever meet, Amy Boland. And she's a great photographer! Look her up on the web and on facebook. She does a lot of work for Magnolia Pearl.
And speaking of Magnolia Pearl, Robin looked cute as she can be. She doesn't like to have her photo taken so she did this for me, thanks Robin.
This brings us to the end of this Round Top post, just what I need, an ejection seat back to my car! Blast off!

Round Top Texas, Junk Capital of the World!

"Oh Lord it's hard to be humble, when you stink as bad as I do..." OMG it was Africa hot in Round Top. It was dusty with whirlwinds whipping up in the fields and tumbleweeds rolling across the highways, BUT WORTH IT ALL!
After all that wonderful low-fat food I ate I bet I gained 5 pounds so this sign was too perfect! The guys that were running the booth were "foreign-ers" as some would say so they did not get my joke at all, but they took the photo anyway!
My hair at the end of the day...ok it's really a light fixture. Way cool huh!
At one point I did see spots from the heat then I saw these guys and thought, maybe it's time to head back to the hotel for a cool shower!
I think I ate one of their cousins for dinner one night. I loved this carnival booth. I love all this kitchy stuff.
Can you believe there was a day when men actually wore these!  But women wore corsets so we still won the contest of wearing  the most uncomfortable undergarments!
Yea buddy, they take their poultry serious around here!
I know these are parts of farm equipment but I'm sure there's some creative soul out there that will make something with them!
I always stop by Clutter and they always have the best displays of just "stuff." I bought a roll of used film. Why? I have no idea, I'll think of something!
I just loved how this looked. So pink with a hint of green. The whole booth looked like this.
I have seen so many things done with these little mesh purses, and to see so many at once, I wanted to buy them all! No Karen, I didn't!
This still makes me laugh so I'm kicking myself for not buying it just to see hubby's expression when I put it in the den and say how much I "just love it!"
Clocks were everywhere but none of them worked!
I think this was a child's mannequin, it was a bit pricey.
Weird and cool at the same time huh?
Great door my friend Terri bought for her craft room. I'm so envious!
This clock was over 5 feet tall, nope doesn't work either!
This would have made a great lamp but it was $650, outch!
I thought of my friend Susie when I saw this, she's not
even 5 ft. tall.
Well you knew  would find something wedding somewhere! But really, this was about it!
Do you see the pink fridge and stove? Yep had to have it to put up on the walls of my studio, too cute!
I could not resist. Don't tell LuLu Kellogg but I got her one for her birthday! And of course one for me!!
I could have gotten this so much cheaper but I'm running out of wall space!
I just loved these two sisters.
My trip would not have been complete without stopping by to see my favorite girls, The Junk Gypsies!
Is it no wonder this baby girl is so precious, look at her mama, Amie! Both gorgeous!
This was in the Junk Gypsy tent, I think this was one from the Miranda Lambert's wedding, she loves to hunt, so I'm surprised she didn't keep it!
After a long day I almost crawled in this beautiful bed! But decided to head back to my hotel and wash off 10 pounds of dirt, sweat and a few beers!!
